Ghana: Updates On The Sene West and Techiman South Constituency Parliamentary Elections

The Bono East NDC wishes to set the records straight with regards to the Parliamentary Ballot box snatching which is the cause of EC’s inability to declare the results of the Parliamentary Election in Sene west and some latest development on the Techiman South elections.

We will like to set the record straight on whether or not the
The 39 year old gentleman from Tato Bator in the Sene west Constituency who has been jailed 3 months for snatching ballot box is an NPP Member.

First of all, Christian Nukpeta is an NPP polling station Youth Organizer at Tato Bator of Sene West Constituency and his Lawyer Mr Sekyere Boateng is the NPP Bono East 2nd Vice Chairman. The same Lawyer secured a court injunction that is preventing the EC from counting the ballot knowing very well as a Lawyer that, our electoral laws don’t allow anybody from handling electoral materials.

Secondly he snatched the Parliamentary ballot box after the Presidential ballot was counted and declared with NDC Candidate H.E. John Dramani Mahama pulling over 300 votes of the total vote cast.

Again when the Police chased and arrested him with the ballot box the NPP Seal could not be found on the box except the NDC and the EC Seals, this is a clear manifestation that, the NPP Seal has been tampered with and your guess is as good as mine.

From the above facts one does not need a rocket science to know that, the NPP is behind the snatching of ballot box using their polling station Youth Organizer as a condode seeing defeat staring at them.

On the issue of Techiman South, yesterday the NPP Regional Election Director for Bono East Former MCE for Techiman Municipal Hon Prince Yaw Donyina in their Press conference which went viral exposed the EC further by stating unequivocally that, at a point the EC which all stakeholders in the every general elections are supposed to rely on for election data or records were consulting them(NPP) for Pink sheet, these serious admission further exposes the EC for lack of transparency, fairness and credibility. It goes to confirm what we in the NDC have been saying that the EC is in bed with the NPP thereby doing everything possible to steal the mandate of the people for them.

We want to use this opportunity to send a strong caution to the IGP Mr James Oppong Boanu and his men in uniform that, they are the custodians of the Tato Bator disputed ballot box at the moment so anything that happens to the box either by tempering with content or stolen, he and his men will be held responsible.

We want to draw the attention of the EC especially the Techiman South Municipal Officer that, we are aware of the existence of 2 original pink sheet instead of one which was deliberately put or inserted into each pink sheet booklet and that anytime we request for their original we expect to see 2 either both filled or one not filled which reflect the what really transpired at each polling station.

Again, we want to caution some Officials of the NPP who are going round trying to bribe our Agents with huge sums of money to sign some pink sheet for them to use in their diabolic agenda to overturn results in their favour in an attempt to reduce our Parliamentary Seats or Presidential votes to desist from doing that or incur our wrath even though we have confidence in our committed and hard working Agents. They cannot be bribed.

We wish to encouraged our teaming supporters to remain calm and resolute whiles we do everything possible to claim the Techiman South and the Sene West Seats for the NDC because we really fought for the two Seats and we won them convencely.
