Give Six Months Ultimatum To MMDCE’s In Mining Areas To End Galamsey…Broadcast Journalist To Prez . Mahama .

A renowned broadcast journalist and an Anti – Galamsey Advocate, Isaac Ochem is appealing to the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama not to hesitate to sack Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives whose jurisdictions Illegal Mining ( Galamsey ) activities persist.
This according to Ochem will make sure the President’s representatives in the mining areas are seriously in the fight against the Galamsey fight .
The fight against Galamsey activities over the years have caused Ghana in using the Ghanaian tax payers money for the fight but yield no better results even though arrests of Galamseyers have been made and seizure of excavators, weapons , vehicles and other valuables from these illegal miners who have been operating without fear and with impunity.
As a broadcast journalist am so much concern about the fight against Galamsey activities which has caused total destruction to Ghana’s forest reserves and pollution of rivers .
Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives who are the various heads of MUSEC’s / DISEC’s must make sure and stamp on their authorities and allow the various security agencies to flush out these illegal miners without interfering and preventing them.
The information i have gathered from most mining communities in the country after interactions with residents revealed that when the state security personnel causes the arrest of these Galamseyers the MMDCE’s through the powers that they have compel the security agencies to release the Galamseyers because they are their own boys who worked so tirelessly for the political party to win power .
This development has over the years contributed to the failure of winning the Galamsey fight which Ghana has pump in huge sums of monies with no success .
