In recent weeks, there has been a noticeable trend within certain circles of Kumawu Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that warrants serious reflection.
The ongoing disparagement of Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a respected figure not only in our party but also in the larger Ghanaian political landscape that has to do with the nomination of the district chief executive seems to be affecting the image and outstanding leagacy and contributions of Dr. Duffour in the constituency calls for a swift intervention to draw the attention of those behind the mischievous agenda against the former Finance Minister to put a stop to it.
Frank Basoah, a branch communication officer at Tema West in the Greater Accra Region and member of Ashanti Youth Caucus, in a media engagement thwarted on the remarkable contributions of Dr. Duffour to Ghana’s Development doesn’t deserves such character assassination and betrayal in the hands of Kumawu NDC executives to score personal goals.
Mr. Basoah lamented on the magitute at which constituency executives burnt in tainting Dr. Duffour’s image tagging him with tribal comments suggested or better still alleging that, Dr. Duffour is against the nomination of non-Akan as the DCE.
“Such disparaging assertion from some constituency executives is a calculator attempt to downplay the intigrity and leagacy of Dr. Duffour”, which will not work.
Dr. Kwabena Duffour, a respected member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who has been unjustly targeted with claims of orchestrating the DCE nomination process for his personal gain is rather unfortunate. The constituency chairman, according to Basoah, is hiding behind the camras orchestrating the political bigotry against Dr. Duffour.
Frank Basoah made a reference to the demonstration organised leading to the distruction of the party office was fully fueled by the constituency chairman and his cohorts and quickly in u-turn accusing Dr. Kwabena Duffour.
Dr. Kwabena Duffour’s unwavering contribution in the constituency does not warrant for such unfounded accusations from the executives.
However, he made a very urgent call on the rank and file of the constituency executives to as a matter of Dr. Kwavena Duffour’s image render an unqualified apology to immediately correct the wrongs caused to his person.
He further called on the president, H. Excellency John Dramani Mahama to nominate a neutral person to the DCE position to bring peaceful finality to the matter…if not, they will also advise themselves.
