Addressing this canker is crucial for unlocking Ghana’s true potential and ensuring that the president, John Dramani Mahama’s Resetting Ghana Agenda is materialized to develop a roadmap for the country’s growth…and the citinery need to understand the purpose for postive change towards work.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with this content writer, Ben-oni Barnes, a Bible Scholar and head Pastor of 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies sited at Esereso-Feyiase in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, Elder Enoch Ofori Junior said, the level at which public institutional workers , and the society approach to work is negative contributing signicantly to low productivity in the various public sectors call for immediate policy discipline initiative to prosecute the forward march of the country.
The behaviour of Ghanaians towards addressing attitudinal change in the labour class is gradually increasing steadily demanding swift measures from the president.
“The public institutions over the years are being struggling to survive due to bad attitude towards work. The abuse of time to work, absenteeism, indiscipline at work, and the norm of “its government work, not my father’s work” syndrome is collapsing the institutions”.
The country needs resetting…and that cannot be done when the society is not abreast with the need to reset. The president’s prime objective is to transform the country. However, charity begins at home. Thus, he must not loss guard of his commitment to deal with ministers of state who will exhibit bad leadership towards work to set the pace for the society to follow.
Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr averred further that, President Mahama should exercise a strong measures to ensure his appointees adhere to the rules and regulations of the institutions where discipline are enforce.
The nation is grappling with indiscipline, time consciousness, and political vindictiveness setting bad precedence in our institutions which drains the public and private coffers as awhole.
The church, he noted, also have a key role to play in their quest to support the restting agenda by impacting knowledge of change in the mindset of the people using the word of God as a tool of education on the need to be punctual at work and even in the church.
Elder Enoch Ofori reiterated the need for the president to be firmed on exercising his constitutiinal powers on government appointees by enforcing the implemented laws to deal decisively with ministers or heads of institutions who circumvent the rules to serve as deterrent to the society in general.
“It is time to exercise strong punishable disciplinary measures to deal with workers who undermines working rules and regulations”.
