An explosive fire outbreak that occurred at Konog-Odumase-zongo, in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday 5th March 2025 that left many residents in a devated state, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amonkobene and the regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Augustus Andrews has visited the fire scene to ascertain the magnitude of the fire and console with victims for the loss.
Speaking to the media during the visit, he outlined the degree of how the fire destroyed over 30 houses while three persons lost their lives of which he expressed worry about the incident.
According to the Minister, the president, John Dramani Mahama, has expressed his heartfelt about the magnitude of the fire distruction and pledged his support for victims. .
Dr. Amoakohene revealed that the outfit will make sure the regional NADMO, the ccontituency, will put in place immediate intervention to support the victims.
He later visited some of the victims who sustained various degree of injuries at the Konogo government hospital.
In anather development, a mining tenant that runs through the Odumasi Zongo community has caused damage to the road, and have to forcefully blocked by the community. The regional minister however, assured them of facilitating swift measures to tackle the situation.
On his part, the chief of Konogo-Odumasi, Dr. Nana Kofi Antwi lauds the regional minister and his entourage for taking such swift intervention to visit the fire scene.
Dr. Nana Kofi narrated the outcome of the fire to the media said, the police and the fire service have been able to control the fire after a shop contains an exposition materials cuaght fire which led to the devastating disaster. However, the owners of the store have been absconded, and the police are on the look out for them.
