Apple commits to $500 Billion U.S. investment, announces new Server Factory in Texas

Apple has unveiled plans to invest over $500 billion in the United States over the next four years, a move that includes hiring 20,000 new employees and building a state-of-the-art server factory in Texas.

The announcement comes shortly after former President Donald Trump revealed that Apple CEO Tim Cook had assured him the company would shift some of its manufacturing operations from Mexico to the U.S. to avoid tariffs. Trump has been vocal about imposing new tariffs that could significantly increase the cost of iPhones produced in China.

Apple’s Commitment to American Innovation

“We are bullish on the future of American innovation, and we’re proud to build on our long-standing U.S. investments with this $500 billion commitment to our country’s future,” Cook stated in a company blog post.

Among Apple’s key initiatives is the construction of a new server factory in Houston, Texas, scheduled to open in 2026. This facility will produce servers for Apple Intelligence, the company’s advanced suite of AI-driven features. Apple claims the project will generate “thousands of jobs” and strengthen its U.S. supply chain.

A Familiar Strategy Under Trump

This isn’t the first time Apple has made such a large-scale investment announcement. In early 2018, during Trump’s first administration, the company committed $350 billion toward U.S. expansion, which also included a promise to create 20,000 new jobs. At the time, Trump was also considering tariffs that could impact Apple’s supply chain, though iPhones ultimately remained unaffected.

With Apple’s latest announcement, the company is once again aligning its strategy with shifting U.S. trade policies, ensuring it remains a dominant player in both the tech and economic landscape.
