2024 Election: Let’s Financially Empowered Our Polling Agents To Avert Bribe-Hon Seth Ankrah

As part of measures to ensure every vote count and protected in the 2024 general election to enhance the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to acclaims victory convincingly, the party should constitute viable structures that will protect and financially recourse polling agents.

Speaking to this content writer, a member of the NDC in the Ashanti Region in the Bosomtwi constituency, Hon Seth Ankrah believes empowering our Polling agents who would be stationed at the polling stations, will further enhancing the party”s victory.

According to him, over the years, Polling agents competency level when it comes to integrity assessment especially in the Ashanti Region has been a situation confronting the party during elections and its so imperative to deal with the situation as we go into the 2024 elections.

Hence it is time the party’s top machinery should considering resourcing the polling agents…because, the polling stations are pivotal point where elections are won hence, paying less attention on them would jeopardise our chance of wining.

“If a Polling agent is being resource and given assurance that when the party wins the elections the party will identify special job roles for them, he behaves such agent will work with a culture of integrity to protect our votes”.

The problem agents do encounter after elections is; “We were used as polling station agents but when the party came to power, I did not get anything”…and when this not properly handle, people will put sand in our gari.

Hon Ankrah noted, the NDC canot afford to lose the 2024 elections and the only thing the NPP will do is to wade through our Polling agents with money because NPP is much aware that, their abysmal performance cannot win the 2024 elections and the only thing they will do is to spend the tax payers money to buy the elections.

This elections are very crucial and agents need to have a clear code of conduct that can explicitly prohibits bribery and other unethical behaviour to ensure the culture of integrity and accountability so as to reduce the risk of been bribed.

This year’s polling agents that will protect our votes should be given assurance going into the election especially in the Ashanti Region.
