Kumasi sits on a total land size of 254 km2 (98 sq mi), with an elevation of 250 m (820 ft), alternatively known as “The Garden City” because of its many species of flowers and plants in the past. It is also called Oseikrom, named after Osei Kofi Tutu I who was the first king of the Asante Kingdom.
