Head Coach of Asante Kotoko, Mariano Barreto angrily has called for investigations to be conducted on their defeat to Elmina Sharks in their final fixture of the season.
The ‘Kum Apem’ side wrapped up their 2020/21 campaign with a loss to the Fearsome Sharks by a loan goal, netted by Alhaji Mustapha to edge his side to survive relegation.
Mariano Barreto wasn’t spotted at the bench in the last game due to suspension so had to watch from the stands and has made wild allegations on some of the fans afterwards.
The Portuguese tactician, also, suspects something fishy in that game and has called on the Board of the club to launch investigations on the issue and make sure the people involved are punished severely. He said;
“In the last match some strange things happened.”
“I have already said that these issues have to be investigated and punish those that have to be punished.
“This is to the board of Kotoko and these things should not happen. Kotoko is a big brand and one of the biggest clubs in Africa.”
“What happened this season I hope never happens again to any player or coach.”
The Porcupine Warriors lost to Berekum Chelsea over the weekend on penalties to suffer eviction in the quarter final of the MTN FA Cup, ending their season trophyless having already lost the league to their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak.
