Farm Owners Exploits Workers in the midst of Coronavirus in Australia – Report

Many  farm workers and fruit pickers are underpaid, harassed, exploited and pressured by farm owners especially during the pandemic in Australia.

Workers are stuck in farms for days just to be paid 18 bucks per hour, shitty pieces rate and treated like dogs, prices sticking at the minimum or changing in last minutes, expensive hotel’s or farm accommodations rent. according to the report reaching AmNews.

Migrant Workers are not Slaves, they are part of the economy of the destined country.

We all have our experiences searching a bit on Google, Facebook, Instagram posts of backpackers in that case are a never ending story! How many of us have been told “if you dont do it, we have 200 backpackers ready to take your position” a worker quezes.

After Covid the situation is slightly changing, more and more farm are desperate for workers, fruits are becoming rotten on the trees and they cry for more worker help to pick and pack them.

Some of the farm owner are paying fair wages and treating you as a human and not as a machine but they are very rare.

There are many groups, full of people following their posts every day and looking for work or for informations about farm work for the future arrival in the country.

Sharing their stories on those groups and identifying those farms, on others farm work groups where farmers share theirs job offer, write more public post explaining their point of views, signaling and harassing in commentary unfair job offer to make sure no one else is accepting those jobs and tolerate their behavior and often racism towards farm workers, and they are been paid below minimum wage.

We all keep hearing “Bundaberg the city of modern slavery”, “fake payslips” “unpaid work and Harrassment in coffs harbor blue berries picking” etc.. But we keep going to those farms.
We want those places to shut off! To not have enough workers and having their fruits rotting on the trees unless they provide is fair wages, fair working conditions and respectful behavior towards us!, some of the workers fumes.
